The Chelsea Police Department, FBI and State Police Arrest Sixteen in Early Morning Raids
Friday- January 8th- The Chelsea Police Department announced today that a series of early Friday morning raids netted sixteen (16) arrests including eleven (11) for Federal Indictment Warrants. Many of those arrested face up to thirty (30) year prison terms for narcotic and firearm violations. The nine month investigation under the direction of the FBI named “Operation Crossroads” targeted local gang members and career criminals that conducted illegal operations in the Bellingham Square area of the city.
According to Chief Brian A. Kyes, “The Chelsea Police Department will continue to conduct these operations that target this very dangerous element.” He added, “The Department has prioritized focused enforcement on these repeat offenders and will continue to work with our Federal and State partners in this aggressive pursuit to make Chelsea safer”.
