Chelsea Police Department Arrest Twelve In Prostitution/ John Sweep
In an ongoing effort to eradicate Prostitution in Chelsea, the Chelsea Police Department conducted a focused operation on Friday July 17th 2009. As part of on-going “Operation IMPACT” (Improved Methods of Patrol Area Crime Trends) the department utilized undercover officers in targeting both Prostitutes and Johns. As a result, twelve (12) arrests were made.
According to Chief Brian A. Kyes, “The Chelsea Police Department will continue to conduct these operations that target not only Prostitutes but also their customer base or John’s.” He added, “The Department has prioritized focused enforcement on these types of crimes that affect the quality of life of Chelsea residents and we will continue to work with the District Attorney’s office in an effort to impose stricter sentences and fines”.
